It’s time to discover the MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard (r) Credit Card, which offers the best value for money in terms of shopping, cash and travel. It’s like having more than one card in your wallet. When you try the card for the first time, you will earn 10,000 points and a welcome bonus worth $100. 

If you choose to use your MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard (r) points for travel, you can book your own trip, select a plan online, or browse through MBNA’s own travel centers. The 10,000-point welcome bonus, worth $100, justifies the lo-fi annual fee of $89 for the MBNA rewards the world’s elite Mastercard. 

The cardholder can redeem MBNA Rewards points for anything the cardholder wants, including cashback statements, travel rewards, airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, gift cards, merchandise and more. For example, redeem a cashback account statement for 120 points worth 1,00083 points. This is a good rate to redeem points for a statement as most reward cards offer a rate of 0.005 points per redemption. 

You will earn 10,000 bonus points for your first eligible credit card transaction, and these points are worth 100% when redeemed for travel or cash. Eligible purchases help you earn 2 award points for every dollar spent. 

You can use points to purchase gift cards, goods, travel perks and cash. In the first 3 months, you can earn up to 30,000 points, $30 each.

To receive a 50,000 Membership Rewards Points welcome bonus, you must spend $5,000 in the first three months on eligible purchases. To receive a welcome bonus of 75,000 Memberships Rewards Points over the same period. In the first 6 months, you can earn up to 5x points for gas, food and travel.

20,000 bonus points (165% cash value) when you make $2,000 or more of eligible purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account. Earn 5 points for every $1 spent in restaurants, grocery stores, digital media, memberships, household and utility purchases, up to $50,000 spent in the appropriate category.

Annually, you will receive a birthday bonus equal to 10% of the total points your account earns in the 12 months preceding your birthday; the maximum birthday bonus is 15,000 points per year. Redeem points for cash, branded goods, gift cards to participating retailers, charitable donations and travel. Points awarded for Eligible Transactions will be credited to your account as specified in the Program’s Terms and Conditions.

Other eligible purchases are earned at a base earning rate of one (1) point per dollar. In addition, each account will receive a birthday bonus equal to 10% of the total amount of points earned in the 12 months before the primary cardholder’s birthday. The maximum birthday bonus per year is 15,000 points.

To receive a paperless bonus of 10,000 bonus points, you must log in to online banking at www.MBNA.com and agree to paperless payments within the first 90 days of opening the account and can not revoke this registration after that period. Credit card reward programs are programs that are associated with credit card accounts. Your account will earn five (5) points for each dollar you spend in restaurants, grocery stores, digital media, memberships, household and utility purchases in the $50,000-plus category in a calendar year.

To earn 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, you will be charged $1,500 for each purchase on your card within the first three months of your card membership. Annual fees are waived for the first year, and every $2,500 spent, you earn 5 Scotia Rewards points for travel within the first 3 months. To earn 15,000 points, you need to purchase every 14-17 months during a card membership.

The annual fee is the same as the WestJet and RBC World Elite Mastercard in comparison, which gives excellent value for money – but is restricted to WestJet purchases. A major disadvantage of cash back cards is that an annual fee of $89 is more than enough to cover one of the 10,000 points and 100% activation rewards for a year. The break-even point for cashback rewards currently covers a second year with annual fees of $44.50 per spend, well below many cashback customers.

With 2% off purchases in three spending categories of your choice, including groceries, household supplies, gas, travel and lodging, plus 0.5% off, MasterCard puts as much in your wallet as Tangerine’s money-back credit card. In addition, cardholders can choose between two categories and get 2% cashback. If they set up an automatic deposit of rewards into a Tangerine savings account, they will get cashback in a third category.
