What happened in the stock market
The Canadian markets were much positive for this week:
- CSE with a great gain of 7%;
- TSXV with a gain of 1,9%
- TSX didn’t have any gains or loss.
The Bank of Canada says a strong economic growth is expected in 2nd half of 2021 as vaccinations against Covid-19 continue. According to Tiff Macklem (BoC governor) : “This is a bad third wave and we need to get through that… as we can get back to more normal activities, we think consumers, Canadians, are going to go pend money and that will lead the recovery.
That being said, the bank expects inflation to hit 3 percent in the coming months, before dropping down closer to 2 percent later in the year. In comparison, the current inflation rate in the USA is 2,6%.
